<p>The coupling socket provides detachable electric connection for mechanically coupled railway passenger coaches. It incorporates a cover, swivelling against spring force, sealing the socket on its own when uncoupled. The cover locks the inserted cable plug in the operative position, by means of a cover lug gripping behind a collar on the plug. The cover lug is in the form of a snap mechanism, opening when a defined tension limit is exceeded, to release the coupling plug and return to the original position. It can comprise a cam (8), with a notching groove (10), swinging about a bearing shaft (9), and holding the locking bolt (11) of a spring-loades swivel lever.</p> |
