<p>The device is for connecting girders or columns in steel structures, or other structural elements, without having to swing girders in position between columns, and rivet or bolt into special fitting holes in flanges. This involves a fla plate (18), pref. rectangular, with one or more slots (80) running out from one edge, and with a bolt (82) standing out from the surface, set near the edge opposite to the slot on a line parallel to the slot. There may be two parallel bolts, with ends at the corners of a rectangle. Each bolt may have a threaded shaft and a nut. Two such plates can readily be brought close together and joined.</p> |
