Mobile large capacity refuse container is made of plastics and of a rectangular section and with a downwards tapering rear part. At one side wall of the container near its bottom edge is mounted a pair of wheels and at the top edge of the same side wall are mounted two symmetrical apart spaced hand grips. The hand-grips are attached to the rear part of the container by lugs positioned at right angles to their longitudinal axis. The flap cover is provided with two fork shaped hinge parts which between them enclose the hand grips. In the space between the hand grips project two additional hinge parts of the flap cover which are linked to the hand grips. Each hinge arm (15, 17) of the flap cover (2) is fork-shaped at its bearing end and both its side parts (15', 16",17', 17") are positioned on opposite sides of the lugs (9, 10) connecting the hand grips (13) to the rear part (1) of the container. One side part (15', 15") of the fork hinge (15) has a hole for a bearing pin (19) inserted in the hollow hand grip (13).
