<p>The heat pump extracts heat from water whose temp. is above O deg.C, and in doing so generates a mixture of water and ice. The ice in the ice-water mixture is to be melted by heat exchange with an environmental heat source e.g. rainwater, the air and domestic waste water. The medium to be used is pref. stored in a tank, through which the ice-water mixture will pass in heat-exchange circulation. Artificial sources of heat e.g. off-peak electrical heating, might be used to melt the ice.</p> |
