<p>Quenching plant, where a jig is used to lower workpieces into a tank for hardening, and the quenching medium is pumped through a closed circuit to >=1 pipe located on the bottom of the tank. The pipe(s) are fitted with outlet nozzles directing the quenchant onto the workkpieces. The closed circuit includes an overflow on the tank, a pump, and a heat exchanger supplied by a second closed circuit through which a heat transfer medium is circulated. A temp. sensor in the quenchant circuit is pref. employed, to adjust the flow and/or temp. of the heat transfer medium in circuit, and a second temp. sensor is pref. used for adjusting the temp. of the heat transfer medium, esp. by adjusting valves supplying a heated liq. Two quenchant circuits, which can be coupled together via solenoid valves, may also be used. Economic hardening of large workpieces is obtd. e.g. long bars or tubes, in a large tank using alternative circuits for oil or water quenching systems.</p> |
