PURPOSE:To manufacture the rail having excellent rolling contact fatigue damage resistance by manufacturing a steel rail by incorporating specified ratios of C, Si and Mn into iron and specifying each hardness of the head tip part and head corner part in the rail. CONSTITUTION:A steel rail contg., by weight, 0.10 to 0.65% C, 0.20 to 1.20% Si and 0.50 to 1.50% Mn, furthermore contg., at need, one or more kinds among 0.10 to 5.00% Cr, 0.05 to 3.00% Mo, 0.01 to 0.05% Nb, 0.05 to 0.20% V and 0.01 to 0.05% Ti and the balance iron with inevitable impurities is manufactured; in which the hardness of the head tip part is regulated to 200 to 350Hv Vickers hardness and that of the head corner part to 250 to 410Hv Vickers hardness. In this way, the rail having excellent rolling contact fatigue damage resistance in the head tip part and head corner part can be obtd. |
