1499865 Instant dessert GENERAL FOODS CORP 22 April 1975 [16 May 1974] 16704/75 Heading A2B A dry composition forming an instant dessert on mixing with milk contains a modified starch and a mono-, di-. or tri-ester of a C 1 -C 3 aliphatic acid and a C 1 -C 3 polyhydric alcohol in an amount of 0.3-3% by wt. of the composition to reduce foaming. Preferred esters are diacetin, triacetin, dipropionin and tripropionin. Propoxylated starches are preferred but also mentioned are starches modified by sodium hypochlorite, esterified with phosphates or hydrolysed with acid or heat. Other additives include flavourings, colouring, gelling agents, sugar and dextrose. |
