PURPOSE:To expand the operating range of a robot by altering a criterion based on the operation command of the robot in a device for detecting abnormally approached arms of the robot by monitoring the ultrasonic wave propagation time by providing a plurality of ultrasonic wave elements at plural positions of the arms.
