The electronic lock system utilises a transmitter and a receiver circuit in separate sections. The transmission side incorporates a pulse generator (1), a transmitter (2) and an antenna (3) in the form of an induction coil. Pulses are also transferred to a shift register (15) and a multiple OR gate (16). The output of the OR gate passes to a coincidence unit (17), and outputs (18, 19) go to the closure unit. The coincidence unit also receives input from another antenna (14) and receiver (13) which includes a demodulator. The reception side of the division line (51) comprises an input antenna (4), receiver and demodulator (5), current supply (6), trigger (7), coupler (8), shift register (9), multiple OR gate (10), feedback transmitter (11) and output antenna (12).
