<p>1428093 Resinous compositions BAYER AG 3 April 1974 [7 April 1973] 14776/74 Headings C3B C3F and C3P A curable composition, suitable for powder coatings, comprises : (A) a copolymer, having an average M.W. of 3000-20,000, of (by weight) 23-92% methyl methacrylate, 5-62% of other (meth)acrylic esters derived from C 1-12 alcohols, and 3-15% of (meth)acrylic, itaconic, maleic or fumaric acid (or mixtures thereof); (B) triglycidyl isocyanurate; and (C) cellulose acetobutyrates. The composition may contain 95-80 parts by wt. of (A) and correspondingly 5-20 parts by wt. of (B) and 5-40% by wt. based on (A) of component (C). (A) may be a polymer of (by wt.) 5-15% (meth)acrylic acid, 5-10% of methyl and/or ethyl acrylate and 90-75% methyl methacrylate. (C) has an acetate group content of 5-40% by wt., a butyrate content (calculated as butyric acid) of 10-58% by wt. and a melting range of 120- 200‹ C. The composition may additionally contain up to 150% by wt. of (A) of a pigment and 0À1-40% by wt. of (A) of levelling agents, e.g. silicones, polyesters, oligomeric acrylates, phosphoric acid esters, phthalic acid esters and oil soluble metal compounds. The compositions are useful in electrostatic spray processes.</p> |
