The bonding material may be plaster of Paris, unsaturated polyester resin or comprise materials which form on reaction with water calcium silicates and/or calcium aluminates, e.g. Portland or high alumina cement. The carbonaceous material may be oil coke. The composition may include waterproofing agents and/or expanding agents, e.g. Al. Acetylene black may also be present.
