<p>A compact stack forming machine, having a mobile chassis adapted to move across a field, includes a pickup and conveyor system for continuously picking up crop material from the field and conveying the crop material to above, and from adjacent a first end toward an opposite second end of, a stack forming chamber mounted upon the chassis, an extensible and retractable flexible floor for progressively discharging crop material into the chamber so as to progressively form a stack of crop material in the chamber, and a packing roll extending across the chamber and movable between the ends thereof to compact the crop material discharged within the chamber as the stack is progressively formed in the chamber.</p> |
