<p>The heavy load handling tackle is particularly for sections of a ship's hull. It comprises a spreader (1) with two or more suspension and hoist mechanisms (6), each with a number of stationary pulley blocks (7) mounted on it, and moving blocks (8) with hooks (11) to suspend the load. A wire rope (9) is reeved round the blocks, hauled in or paid out by a hoist mechanism with rope feed (10), the other end of this rope being anchored to the spreader. A further rope reeved round fixed and moving blocks is anchored at both ends to the spreader, having no hoist mechanism.</p> |
