Each folding cylinder (7, 10) has on its circumference two groups of different numbers of fastening devices (6, 17, 21). These numbers are not in an integral ratio to one another. For example the first group comprises three, the second four fastening devices. The latter serve to receive operating mechanisms such as folding knives (11), folding flaps (13), grippers (8) and the like. The operating mechanisms are accommodated in cassettes. If, therefore, in the case of six engravings, for example four, operating mechanisms are used, instead of three, their spacing on the folding cylinder circumference is smaller, leading to lower accelerations. The machine speed therefore only needs to be reduced to an insignificant extent with consideration of the folding apparatus with six engravings compared to that with four. <IMAGE> |
