1495922 Driving spinning rings SPURMACH ESPANA SL 5 July 1976 [4 June 1976] 27893/76 Heading DID A ring spinning system with driven rings is arranged so that rotation of the rings is stopped prior to stoppage of the remainder of the machine as determined by the controller of the final stroke before the end of 'that stroke, and when the machine is started the ring rotation is started after the start of the machine as determined by an adjustable time delay. Drive is taken to the rings from a drive belt 3 via pulleys 6 with cylindrical extensions 7 about which belts 11 run to carry drive to the ring rails 13. The first two rings 14 of the ring rail are driven by a belt about their upper periphery. The ring mountings then drive a tangential belt 15 within the ring rail which transmits drive to the remaining rings. The belt 11 which takes drive into the ring rail has a tensioning roller 12 which allows for the slight movement of the ring rail while the rings are not rotating at the beginning and end of spinning. The main drive belt 3 has rollers 9 which support its lower edge.
