Wobble-plate fluid or gas pump - has spherical chamber with opposed cones acting as plate pivot faces

The pump is for use at pressures up to 20 atmospheres, abd has a hollow spherical chamber, in which two truncated cones face each other, with a rotary shaft concentric to them carrying a ball rubbing gently against the cones. The ball has a groove in a plane at 90 deg. to that of the shaft, accommodating the wobble plate which rubs gently against it and whose diameter corresponds to that of the housing chamber. The plate has a radial groove working with the faces of a partition, in the top part of the chamber, whose lower face is arc-shaped. Openings are provided in the two faces of the partition for connection to the supply and delivery unions. The cones act as pivoting faces for the plate.
