摘要 1422554 Flexible decorative laminates CARTIERE AMBROGIO BINDA SpA and HERMANN BERSTORFF MASCHINENBAU GmbH 9 Jan 1973 [14 Jan 1972] 1074/73 Heading B5N Decorative laminates are continuously produced by feeding at least two flexible absorbent layers, at least one of which has been impregnated with unsaturated polyester and/or allyl resin and has a printed, multi- or single-coloured surface, at 8-16 m./min. to a location at which they are contacted at 2-10 kg./cm.<SP>2</SP> pressure and at 100-190‹ C. As shown, layers 1-3 are bonded together. Layer 1 may be a paper, non- woven fabric or synthetic or glass fibre web and may have been treated with the resin by single impregnation, double impregnation or single impregnation followed by spreading and dried at 80-90‹ C. to give a resin content of 50-60%. Layer 2 may be absorbent paper, non-woven fabric, cloth, glass fibre web or wood chip or fibre web or may be formed by flexible reconstructed wood panels, and may have been impregnated with similar resins, preferably in a single step. Layer 3 may be paper or non-woven fabric which is untreated or has been partially impregnated with urea-melamine resin. Layer 1 may alternatively be bonded to layer 2 or layer 3 alone. The layers may be bonded by passing between a rotating drum 6 and an endless belt 7. Curing may be initiated by a heater 5 and the distribution of heat may be improved by radiators 20 and a reflecting screen 21. The laminate may be further heated at 11 and may be cooled at 13 by an air-jet, and roller 15 may be used for heating or cooling. A non-adhesive web 16, e.g. release paper, aluminium, polypropylene, polyfluorocarbon or polyester, prevents contact of the layers with drum 6 and may provide a smooth, bright, rough, embossed or matt surface. Embossing may also be carried out by rollers 17. The impregnating resins for layers 1 and 2 may comprise propylene glycolmaleic anhydride-isophthalic acid polyester and/or a diallyl phthalate resin and may include diallyl phthalate (as a cross-linking comonomer), separating agents, catalysts, silica gel (as a thixotropic agent) and solvents.
