Thermoplastic resin mixts. contg. micronised rhyolite, pref. at 0.3-2.5 wt. %, ar new. Pref. resins are polyethylene, polystyrene, PVC etc. The additive may be mixed with the resin in the cold during granulation, e.g. using a master batch. The compsns. may be used for the usual applications, i.e. mouldings, packaging, tubing etc. The additive improves surface oxidn. and adhesion without recourse to expensive, or special procedures (electronic bombardment, chromatosulphuric chloride treatment etc).
