<p>The metal sealing cap has lateral tear-open tongue and a partial cut forming an extension of one or both of the tongue edges. The underside of the cap has a coating of varnish applied to a section of metal beyond a transverse line (6) on the opposite side of the cap to the tongue (2). The partial cut lines (3, 4) stop at the rounded part of the cap (5), formed when it is crimped onto the bottle. This ensures that when the tongue is torn open, the portions of the cap to each side of it tend to hinge outwards, making complete removal easier.</p> |
