The multi-section boat sail has sections sliding on the same stay, each connected to the one aft of it. Each can have its tacking point adjusted in relation to the boat centre line, and its clew point adjusted along this line. Each set of sections may be arranged to slide on a stay between the mast and the bridge, by means of a halyard and rings sliding on the stay. The takcing point of the foremost section can be fixed, those aft of it sliding on components perpendicular to or centred on the boat centre line. The clews to leeward of each section can be turned independently of each other on locking devices sliding on a rail parallel to the hull, and combined into a single clew beyond the last locking device.
|
