The process for making head dresses is modified so that hoods or cowls are made. The sheet (11a) is larger than in 7521544 and so are the individual pre-cut strips (14a) that are bonded to it. An interval (d) is left between the consecutive strips and this corresponds to the distance between the forehead and the neck of the user. At least one triangular opening (60) is made between each of the precut strips so that the user's face is left clear or so that only the eyes and nose are uncovered. The openings can be made after the sheet has been folded.
