The tube or rod being drawn is passed through the die and gripped by jaws fixed to links of endless chains driven by wheels and mounted in the frame. The jaws are provided with semi-circular recesses which match the size of the tube or rod being drawn. The jaws fit into T-slots in the links of the chains and can be pushed out sideways by jacks mounted on the side of the machine. A rack stationed by the side of the machine stores sets of jaws so suit different sizes of tubes and rods. A second set of jacks pushes the replacement set of jaws into the T slots in the links of the chains.
