The collapsible sales display stand, or other furniture unit having a table surface and a cupboard base comprises one basic unit made up of interconnected walls wherein the tabletop surface (1) is surrounded along its edges by a downwardly protruding peripheral web (2) whilst the base (3), the four side walls (4, to 7) and any legs (8) which may be provided are connected to each other and to the peripheral web beneath the tabletop by articulated joints (15, 17, 18, 20, 21). The table can then be folded down to the space enclosed by the peripheral web so that this stand can be easily transported and subsequently erected by any unskilled person without any danger of the parts being lost.
