The element is for use in conjunction with internal or external claddings of asbestos cement or other panels, to cover corners, expansion joints or roof edges, improving the finish and affording protection from impact. It consists of a profile unit (5) with longitudinal edges (6) overlapping above or below the end faces of adjoining cladding panels (4). It can have bent edge sections (8) as high as the panel is thick, and may be perforated. It can be divided, with interfacing edges hook-shaped and interlocking, with an allowance for play, and it may have a projecting rectangular rib in the central area. This is simple to produce and install, and is versatile in application.
