<p>A specialised test tube and holder-filler arrangement for blood samples, allows a standard quantity of blood to be taken from a patient and conveniently transferred to the laboratory. It is made of plastics and is only used once, thus avoiding cleaning problems. The device consists basically of a test tube (1) open at both ends, and with one end shaped (21) with a stepped cut to cotnact with a reverse shape in a filler device (2). This consists of an entry duct (7), a mating arrangement (4-6, 10) for contact with the test tube (1) and an upper holder tube (3) which holds the tube (1) in place. The tube (1) is mounted in the holder (2) in such a position that blood may be injected into it through the holder entry duct (7) untt the correct quantity is obtained.</p> |
