Switching mechanism with magnetic position lock - has permanent magnet and magnetic counter-element, one on moving trip and other on pivoting contact

The miniature switch has a pivotally mounted switching element which can be magnetically locked in its rest position. A tripping element actuates a snap-action movement of the switching element. The magnetic lock contains a permanent magnet and a magnetic counter element. One of the two is secured to the moving tripping element, while the other one onto the pivoting switching element. The two elements have magnetic looking surfaces which abut each other in the rest position. The switching element is mounted on a stationary axis outside the region of the locking surfaces. An edge bounding the locking surface of the tripping element is provided at a short radial spacing from the axis. The edge assists in transmission of angular motion actuating the switching element displacement.
