Automatic centrifugal clutch with solenoid actuation - has centrifugal weights in drum on driven machine for solenoid switching

The centrifugal clutch has automatic actuator connected to electrical circuit by a solenoid switch. The clutch is engaged only after the driving unit has reached certain speed. This ensures good starting characteristics when starting driven machines from stand still. This arrangement can be used also as a centrifugal brake. It protects machinery such as lifts against electrical power supply failure. The centrifugal clutch (3) is held on drive shaft (1). The centrifugal weights (5) are held concentrically on drum (9) in the driven machine. These weights are moved by solenoid (6) actuated levers (4) and expanding elements (7). The automatic clutch operating mechanism has spring (10) on the machine shaft (8).
