The blind frame (10) is fixed to one side of the old frame components with a shank (11) bent towards the soffit (15). The horizontal frame components (13) are fitted with covering profile units (17, 18) on the other side, overlapped by clip-on screening battens (16) at an interval. A layer of sealing strip (19) can be provided between the bent shank and old frame components, fixed at the same time as the fixing elements (20) for the blind frame. An old window frame can be easily covered by a blind frame set into the wall opening from one side, allowing ventilation of the wooden frame.
