Heavy duty expanding dowel with metal sleeves - has flexible ring for dowel presetting and for ensuring reliable operation

The expanding dowel is used esp. for heavy duty fixing on masonry. The dowel has metal sleeve tapered at its entry end. The sleeve has several longitudinal slots for facilitating expansion. The expansion mandrel and the sleeve are held together by a circlip. Between the dowel sleeve (a) and the expansion mandrel (b) is flexible element (c) in the form of a ring placed into a groove (b) of the expansion element. A part of the transverse section of the ring projects out of the groove for ensuring a deformation travel. The ring (c) is e.g. of rubber or soft plastic material.
