The mechanism couples freight containers together, having two pins each with a locking piece and parallel to each other. The distance between them is adjustable to suit the distance between the sockets in the other container. An eccentric rotates in a plate on an axis parallel to those of the pins and normal to the plate. One of the pins rotates in the eccentric, which adjusts the internal between them. Alternatively, both pins can be mounted in eccentrics. - There can be a locking piece on the free end of each pin, while a securing piece is accommodated between locking piece and plate, rotating in relation to the locking piece. The external dimensions of the two pieces are the same. and they are lockable in opposite positions.
