Manual and electrical metering valve - has drive and plug in vacuum tight non-magnetisable housing

The metering valve is for manual and electrical operation movement of the plug being effected by movement of a screwed component using a magnetic coupling. The drive mechanism (3, 4) together with the plug (7), is accommodated in a vacuum-tight housing (2) of non-magnetisable material, and part of the mechanism is formed by a permanent magnet, caused to rotate by an external stator coil. The needle-type plug can be spring-mounted (5) in the rotor bore, which has some turns of thread. These screw in and out of a guide, moving the plug to open or shut the valve.
