The incoming lines of the switch are crossed in a coordinate manner by outgoing lines. Both types of lines have associated, adjustable selector and switching rails. At the intersection points are coupling contact springs whose free ends engage in selector and switching rail recesses. Each contact spring (F) has a make position (R) and two break positions (Rw, rs). The recesses in the selector (W) and the switching rails (S) actuate the movement of the spring contacts from the two break positions into the make position, on actuation of one of the rails. When only one rail is actuated the spring contact in the make position is moved into the respective break position. The location of the recesses in the rails safeguards the maintaining of the respective contact spring positions.
