<p>A device for indicating the concn. of a soln. using the change in shape of a strip of membrane material which swells in the soln., employs two such strips to one another at their ends. Each strip of two layers which swell differently in the soln. The joints between the two strips. The more strongly swelling of the two layers in each strip lies on the outside of the assembly so that the concn. of the soln. is indicated by the distance between the ends or the centres of the strips. The concn. of the soln. can be quantitatively related to the distance between two measuring points.</p> |
