Generally for determination of cationic materials layer 11' may comprise cation-exchange resin material either as film or as a fibrous or film base, fibrous acidic polymer, particulate acidic resin supported by a fibrous substrate or paper treated with an organic material having acidic groups. A permeable barrier layer 12' of for example filter paper may be used to show diffusion of one reagent towards layer 11'. Backing layer 16' may be of rigid impermeable material such as polymethylmethacrylate, polyethylene or polyvinylchloride, and may have grooves, slots, dimples or other reagent receptacle areas in its surface. The various layers may be attached to each other using a hot melt cement such as a polyamide or polyethylene powder. |
