1529483 Lattice girders UNIVERSAL BAR SUPPLIES Ltd 15 Feb 1977 [28 Feb 1976] 07948/76 Addition to 1466662 Headings E1K and E1W The lattice girder of triangular section for use in reinforced concrete, described and claimed in the parent specification, is modified in that the upper apices 15 of each side of the girder extend for not more than 50% of the wave length of the girder. Preferably, as shown, they extend for substantially 50% of the wavelength so that they terminate at the points 18 where the rod is bent to form a pair of legs 16 associated with each apex portion, the rods of the two sides of the girder thus crossing at these points 18, at which points they are welded together. The legs 16 diverge downwardly from their respective apex portions and are integrally joined to feet portions 17 parallel with the apex portions. As in the parent specification, the girder may be either formed by separate rod portions one for each apex portion 15 or by two continuous rods (Fig. 5, not shown). In either case, the overlapping feet portions 17 may be mounted in grooves 23 of supports 20 which include grooves 21 for additional reinforcement 22. |
