In a modification of the method, the composite material treated is a co-extruded or multilayered material consisting of two or more polymeric components, at least one of which is degraded by the radiation and at least one being left undegraded. In examples the treatment is applied to PVC-coated cotton fabric; the irradiated material is subsequently processed, together with other components, to form garden hoses and shoe soles.</p> |
