PURPOSE: To surely connect cables together with ease by inserting flat cables between specific interconnection assemblies and pressing the both interconnection assemblies to each other so as to connect conductors of the flat cables together. CONSTITUTION: By means of an assembly 34, a conductor 24 of a main cable 12 is electrically connected to a conductor 38 of a tap cable 14 mutually, and an assembly 36 electrically connects conductors 28, 40 together when the assembly 36 is pressed to a cable. In the cables 12, 14, narrow long slots 42, 44, which penetrate the cables 12, 14 and are matched vertically, are punched along intermediate strips of the cables, and the width parts of the intermediate strips are removed for arranging the ends previously. By means of the intermediate slots 42, 44, a barrier 46 extended in the axial direction of the housing members 16, 18 is extended through a housing member so as to serve as a dielectric material between interconnection structures 34, 36 after the ends are arranged, and consequently, electrical insulation in a circuit after interconnection is secured. In this way, electric connection can be surely accomplished by means of a simple structure. |
