<p>1476126 Fibrous composition W L COPELAND 16 Aug 1974 [28 May 1974] 36214/74 Heading C3N A composition comprises a mixture of gypsum, an expanded material, cement, and one only of polypropylene, sisal or glass fibres. The composition may further comprise an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal halide, e.g. KCl or CaCl 2 ; fly ash, silica powder, volcanic rock powder or limestone; and an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal salt of an organic acid such as sodium or potassium citrate. The expanded material may be expanded mica(vermiculite), perlite, expanded clays, pumice aggregate. Wood fibres may also be added to the composition. Upon mixing with water the composition sits and forms a construction material. Preferred volume percentages of the materials in the composition are as follows: 15-40% gypsum, 9-29% expanded material, 15-40% cement, and 1-2% of the specified fibre materials. A preferred specific composition comprises 21% gypsum, 28% expanded ore, 21% portland cement, 21% wood fibres, 7% limestone dust or fly ash, and 2% sisal or polypropylene fibres.</p> |
