PURPOSE: To select at least one of two global rendering techniques, namely, of light tracking and of radio city by providing a hierarchical display list consisting of plural primitives for three-dimensional rendering of a scene and data indicating attributes of primitives. CONSTITUTION: When a user selects light tracking, a light tracking algorithm is applied to render a scene. When he selects radio city, plural smaller face elements are defined with respect to data indicating selected primitives stored in a global data base, and they are stored in the global data base. Attributes of shading of respective face elements are discriminated and are stored in the global data base, and thereafter, global rendering of the scene is displayed based on face elements and data indicating attributes of shading. Thus, either of rendering techniques of light tracking and radio city can be adopted. |
