Thermostat with bimetal dish - has centre of dish acting on edge of hexagonal plate to move spring contact arm

The thermostat has a bimetal dish (3) acting at its moving centre on the lower tip of a hexagonal plate (13). The upper tip of the plate acts on the spring arm (8) carrying the contact button (7) at its free end. The fixed contact (10) is mounted in the top of the housing, so too is the stud (6) that clamps the other end of the spring arm. The vertical sides of the hexagonal plate are curved and travel in keyways formed by two pairs of ribs on the insides of the walls of the housing (1). The bimetal dish is seated in a shallow recess at the bottom of the housing.
