Thermal insulation is fixed to the external surface of a building using brackets spaced over the area. These retain inner and outer layers of insulation, an air gap (6) being formed between them. Each bracket (5) is U-shaped having one longer leg fixed to the wall (2) by a masonry bolt (9). The inner layer (3) of insulation is positioned around the brackets, being retained by interlaced wirers (4) tied to each bracket. The insulation outer layer (7) has a metal mesh backing, slit locally and pushed over the shorter leg of the bracket. A final decorative coat (8) is applied to the external face.
|
