Lamp comprises an elongate housing with an upper section (54), contg. a light source (49) which emits light perpendicularly to the longitudinal direction of the housing. A transparent diffusion screen (28) diffuses the light in a pattern in the shape of a bat's wing, to right and left with respect to an observer facing towards the light source in a perpendicular direction. On the light incidence side of the screen may be parallel symmetrical prism-shaped ribs (31) which face towards the light source and extend perpendicularly to it. Direct dazzle and reflection are eliminated, and a work area and its immediate environment are well illuminated. |
