Limit position monitor for rail points - has inductive switches energised collectively to signal correct positioning

Limit position monitor for rail points has switches fixed to the moving rails. The rail switches (S1 to S12) are in the form of inductive switches such as are commonly used for axle counting of railway rolling stock. A rail switch (S1, 2S) is pref. located at each of seveal control positions on the moving rail (W) and a ferromagnetic element is fitted at each limit position on the fixed rail. The upper section (B) of the fixed rail may act as the ferromagnetic element. Pref. a collective signal for correct positioning of the points is produced when all the switches for a given limit position have been energized and the switches for the other limit position are not energized.
