<p>The shaft (1) of the belt spool (2) carries a rigidly fitted disc (3). When the belt is pulled, the roller and disc rotate clockwise. The disc has teeth (3a) with which a protrusion (4a) on the pendulum (4) meshes. By the rotary movement of the disc the protrusion is ejected out of mesh and at the same time the other arm (4b) of the pendulum swings in opposite direction, pushing the plunger (5) into the cylinder (6) while air is driven out through the one way valve (7). When the rotation of the disc stops, the weight on the end of the pendulum arm starts to move the arm towards the toothing in a retarded manner, because the vacuum in the cylinder (6) caused by the outward movement of the plunger equalises slowly as air enters only through a small aperture into the cylinder.</p> |
