The hydro-pneumatic vessel (1) has a flexible membrane (3) which separates the two chambers (2, 4). The membrane inside the spherical pressure vessel (1) is held in its required position by a bell shaped clamping sleeve (7). The centre of the clamp sleeve (7) carries a flanged bush (10) inside which a lock nut (11) is located. When a screw (16) is inserted, the trapped nut pulls the tapered clamping towards the pressure vessel wall. Thus the edge of the membrane (5) is clamped by the rim of the sleeve (7).
