Face conveyor anchorage and pushover facility consists of a tension cylinder thrusting off an adjustable prop member. The tension cylinder (16) engages a lemniscate linkage (19, 20) formed from a load arm (19) guided by a second linkage arm (20). Pref. the cylinder engages one end of the load arm articulately, and the far end of the arm is coupled (25) to the conveyor itself (10). The second linkage arm (20) should be hinged to the prop (17) carrying the cylinder and to the load arm (19), respectively. The cylinder can be fitted to the conveyor and the couple joint (25) mounted on the prop (17), typically a powered hydraulic support. The cylinder should act on the load arm (19) through a guided (23) slide shoe (22).
