Breathing resistance meter comprises a breathing pipe with a flow resistance and a pulse generator which supplies the respiratory strem with higher-frequency pressure or flow pulses, or a flow resistance of which the resistance is varied intermittently by a frequency greater than respiratory frequency. The flow resistance consists of a complex inductive resistance e.g. a tube. Also provided are means (22-27) for simultaneous detection of the phase angle of pressure in the breathing pipe, and means (29, 31, 35-37) for representing or calculating this phase angle and the pressure to obtain the amount and phase of breathing resistance. These measurements can thus be recorded even in case of respiratory conditions varying during axamination.
