A collating binding machine has a continuous conveyor moving the sheets to be collated to one binding station and operating with at least one binding head. The machine works with at least two rotating sheet rollers which are positioned at a distance from each other along the continuous conveyor and placed above it. The turning axes of the sheet rollers extend largely perpendicular to the direction movement of the conveyor. The continuous conveyor moves the sheets during the collating process with their spines transverse to the direction of movement and with their spines forward placing one sheet into another. The binding head is located within the reversing area of the continuous conveyor.
