The meat mincer has a separate drive unit, to which the feed housing containing the worm, cutter and perforated disc can be connected, while the drive unit can be used for driving other appliances as well. The driving unit has a bearing housing g (10) carrying the drive motor (11), with pinion (16) engaging with a set of gears. The bearing housing has bearings (12) and (13) seating shafts (17) and (21) carrying the gear wheels (18) and (24). Further bearing bushing (14) is provided for the output shaft (30). The reduced gear's final drive is wheel (26) keyed on splines (25) of shaft (30) seated in sturdy radial bearings (34, 35). The tool end of the shaft has shoulder (47) with bearing (46) which has a larger i.d. than the o.d. of the shoulder. The shaft (30) has a hexagonal end fitting a corresponding resess in the worm (50). The feed housing (40) has a cylindrical extension (49) which is slid on a corresponding bushing (14).
