<p>The winding, for rotating machines, is made from coated wire which is inserted into the slots in the machine's stator or external rotor. The winding is heated by an electric current. The winding is placed in the slots and the stator (or external rotor) is then rotated so that the centrifugal force compresses the winding into its slots. Current is passed through the wire during rotation so that the thermoplastic coating metls, fills all cavities and bonds the wires to one another and to the slot insulation. The advantage lies in saving time by avoiding impregnation.</p> |
